Anyone targeting walleye in Chaumont Bay this time of year? I'm taking a trip that way this week and was looking for some advice (locations, depths, ideal lures/presenations). Any advice is appreciated, Thanks in advance!

NYfisher,

I've rented the cabin at Kittos marina next week, and am hoping to get into the bass.

You ever target those ? Any clues for a virgin to the area ?

Thanks

Walleye has been slow! Real slow out of chaumont. Smallies are steady and with the water warming only gonna get better. Try trolling the areas around cherry island and fish guffin bay for the bass. Not many people have been doing well around chaumont as far as I know

I went on a walleye charter on May 31st and the fishing sucked. No walleyes and pike and pickeral were the only thing we caught.I knew it was gonna be tough when we were the only boat that was fishing.

Your best bet for the eyes is to launch at the ismus and fish any where from the head of point peninsula to fox and granideir islands. The fishing has been tough to say the least, but if your a trophy eye hunter, its hard to beat those waters. Your lucky to get 1 or 2 fish but your knees will be knocking wen it surfaces. Good Luc and let me kno how u do.

Howdy all,

I found fish trolling between Johnson shoal and pt. salubrious in 20 fow on a gold rattlin rap. Between the weather, visitors and cooking, I didn't get out as much as I had hoped. The ones I did catch were fat tho. Apparently gobies make good smallmouth food.
