Hello All,

I have a question about trolling Lake Ontario.  I am interested in targetting lake trout that everyone else seems to disdain.   I usually fish the Finger lakes, and i usually get out at first light.  I was wondering if you guys have success with an afternoon/evening troll?

Thanks in advance,

Pete Collin

The bite is best from 9 to 4.  Low light hours, there are fewer along the bottom and more up higher in the water column feeding on alewives.

Gambler would know; he's the laker expert.

Jolly was out Sunday afternoon from 4-8pm & had a steady pick of lakers with some steelhead mixed in, as well as a nice 17 lb king. Had marks on the bottom the whole time but the sun was blazing & not a cloud in the sky.

Just wanted to thank you guys for the advice.  I had a successful morning today.  Never discovered if they would bite in the afternoon.  The heat was so bad i couldn't stick it out past noon!
