was out of severne yesterday and i noticed several bouy north of the launch. They said dec ,anyone know what they are?

The red flag ones? Not sure they are side by side the way up through. They were on south end both sides the lake. Its a nys boat. But not Dec. Not sure what's going on.... they pulled buoys out after about 24 hours

Those bouys are  DEC nets. They are sampling lake trout. The nets are 20 feet high and 350 feet long. They are on the bottom. They move the nets every day. They will be done this Friday.

I saw a guy go right between them,as I went out around, guess he was lucky not to snag the nets.

Always wondered how they did the netting...sure would be nice to have that job for the summer...bet those guys have some stories!  Anybody got any more info on this?
