Got the day off and was able to fish in Apple Boy. Connor and Jon met me at the boat at 5:30am and we talked over our game plan. We decided to run out and start for salmon instead of browns and we are glad we did!!

We had our spread in the water by 6am which consisted of two riggers, 4 wires, 8 color and a 2 color lead core and a 300ft copper. We started in 80 ft and by 150 the screen was getting better. We had one release on the rigger, but nobody was home. It hit a uv tuxedo. At about 6:40 the action began. We circled around to hit the spot again and it was game on!. The 250 dispsy(3 setting) took off and Connor was on a decent fish! Just the time he got to that rod the 240 dipsy on a 1 setting pulling meat took off! Doubled up! Jon was clearing the copper which was down the chute when the 180 dipsy also on a 1 setting started screaming also! Tripled up but we quickly lost that fish. Connors fish came to the net first and was 20lbs roughly. It hit white board green dots with a ultra green glow fly. My fish was staying deep all the way to the boat. The king I had did not want to come to the boat. For a few minutes it swam about 10feet behind the boat 5 feet under the water! Very Cool to watch! Jon did a great job netting the 27lb king while Connor was navigating us back north to our way pionts. We had non stop action throughout the day!

As the sun got higher we changed sea sick waddlers on the rigger over two uv gator board with a uv dolphin fly with uv gator spoon on the slider. We changed the white board with green dots over to a chrome board. Also put out a blue dolphin spin doctor with a uv dophin fly. We had a few hits and a miss on the dipsys and we lost a fish on the meat while it was screaming!

Connor fought a nice screamer on the rigger with he uv gator e chip but we lost it due to a tangle. The mono was rubbing on the wire which cut a whole in the mono and broke us off. You could see the fish on the surface so we decided to go get the fish and our lures! While I was making the turn connor yells, "the planer board" which was out of site in the lake! For some reason the board flipped and acted like a dipsy diver and dove down! We cleared all the dipsys and the other lead core and made a hard circle to get the board in! It was very scary!

We got set back up and Jon got a 5lb king of the dipsy, and conner got a 7lb laker! Our plan was to pull lines at 2:15 but at 1:50 the 400ft dipsy takes off with the blue dolphin board! I was on the rod, Connor was driving and Jon was clearing lines. It went all the way out to 700 feet and the started chasing the boat. Then back out to 700 feet! Very fun fish to fight but unfortunately we will never know what it was. Got it to 150 and the leader between the fly and spin doctor broke! We then decided to call it a day and go get some lunch! We finished 6 for 10 and cant wait to get out again with these guys! -Apple Boy
