We had about an hour and a half before we had to be back at the house so we figured we would hit our laker honey hole a couple times then pack up. Mag dipsy out 250 and the #1 out 285 both with flasher flys. Wasn't long before the mag started hammering....4 pound or so in the net! Had a miss on the 40 ft rigger with slider.....then turned around and hit the hole again....mag starts throbbing again...take our Time bringing this one in....felt a little bigger...6 or 7 minutes later....in the net.... Headed home...

Hey Lakertaker...........30lb 7 strand camo color wire.  Mono has to much stretch and resistance(blowback if you will)for your diver to be effective at ideal Lake trout depths. (65 to130 feet)  Wire cuts through the water like a knife and also has zero stretch for ease of tripping the release when pulling in without a fish on.  Some say the wire makes sound while flowing through the water that intern attracts fish!!  If I had to choose between riggers or divers for Laker Fishing  it would be the wire divers!  Be sure to set your drag light as again with no stretch a big fish can be rough on your rig!!!
