Cut Bait

When running cut bait what works best like what kind of flasher, and should i use herring strips, whole herring or whole anchovies

Been running it for many years now ... over 15 and almost always behind a large flasher or Spin doctor. Used to use a 11'' glow frog hot spot dodger but now use a 10" SD straight white. Ran Rhys Davis cut strips till they went out of business. switched to Familiar Bite but didn't like the whole baits as much. Now I'm back to the Familiar Bite cut strips (Rhys Davis specs) love it. there's a small learning curve but it works better than almost everything else I run.

Earie dearie strips behind a 11 in flasher. But I've ran it behind 8 in echips with some success.

We use it with an 11" plate/twinkies usually.

I have an 11' Dreamweaver dodger..plastic. When I was running it, it would tangle everything all up..basically reeled it in and it had tangled itself in the leader etc. No issues with the SD or the size 0 dodger. what could I be doing wrong?

what length lead behind the rigger ball?   The longer you get the more "crazy" the action gets. I usually run no MORE than 10'

I thought it was the other way around? Closer to the ball more action?
