I-Bay 17-18th

Saturday hit the water with Dan (a little cuz I thought it was a good idea to leave the boat keys on the counter at home).

Finally out and started our search for some active fish. I dont have a down temp yet, so we fished the marks. Ran 2 riggers with Mt. Dew SD with hammer fly, 42nd spoon with a orange cheater. Wires had Mt. Dew with hammer and green/white with hammer. Ran core down the middle for some steelies. Started in 250ish FOW and worked north, north east. Made it out to just about 700 FOW before we started to turn south. Went 5 for 7 for the day with a great double!!! Got a good tip to run the dipseys back to 340 feet and bam, doubled up!!! 32#, 28#, a few in the upper teens and a nice little steelie mixed in. Great day out on the water. Best day yet on the new ride!!!

 

Sunday another friend Andre joined me for a quick trip. Out on the water just around 7 and headed to the same marks from the previous day. We stopped in 160 FOW to take a look. Decided to set up and head north. Same spread as previous day minus the leadcore. Just as I set the 4th rod, rigger fires...2 minutes later the dipsey fires. Double to start the morning! Reset and 30 minutes later, draggs were screaming again! Stayed in the 160-220 FOW and ended up going 5 for 7 again. Had a good king break us off, bummer. Pulled lines at 10:15ish and called it a day. All kings, 25#, 23# and the rest were upper teens again. Again a great day on the water!
