Went out yesturday and saw tons of big guys just sitting on the bottom in about 50-70 fow. Is there any tricks to getting these guys to bite? Tried all depths but they just didnt budge. Almost wanted to stop the boat and try a jig.

Years ago I read an article about guys who would drill two holes in their downrigger balls and screw in short 3' sections of all-thread in an inverted V shape. Then they'd tickle the bottom with the all-thread rods. I've always wondered if that would work?

We took a ton of fish in that water today- just gotta find the right stuff they want to eat! Flasher fly and a mag red white and green spoon took our fish today- they didn't touch anything else.

Blue and silver or green cowbells with a 1 1/2 foot leader with a peanut and beads before the hook scraping the bottom with the rigger ball takes the big ones for us

Letting the rigger balls hit bottom sounds like a good idea but I worry about getting caught up on something. Already lost a dipsy cause it got to deep and it just vanished

We run all balls right off bottom 6 inches to a foot occasionally bouncing

Run real slow, than through the boat in neutral for about 10 seconds than back to forward, WHAMO! Seems like they like it falling or just starting out.

you have to get it almost in their faces for them to bite,in 50-70 fow just drag copper on the bottom with 15 foot mono leaders which will float and bounce off the bottom, that works

i've been hitting them with green and white fly's and meat rigs
