I was out of Grimsby today from 8 am-130 pm and only managed one small bow and a coho . 3 knock offs  . All were on 7-10 colour toxic lines with large spoons. One on a dipsey. Last year in the same area and program we usually boated 12-15  . Its has been a very slow year for me as well.  Haven't tried the earrings yet. but maybe next time
