Went out first light in kayak. Flatlined rapalas from 100-150' back in anywhere from 20-60 FOW. No takers there. Moved out to 100-150 FOW with couple different colored last masters from 100-200' back. No takers either. Depth works great on FF but does not show much on screen. Any suggestions? Thanks

No doubt would work dipsey diver even on braid would be good. You need to get much deeper than just flat out the back..50-70 down i would think. At least that depth zone that I always go for in there seems to work. I used to pull braided dipseys out of a little dink 12ft nymph in therein 90fow. Turned them on a 3 setting 175 feet of braid out...lakers will come

I don't like copper because u have to put it all out to be effective, like a set 200 or 300ft etc. lead core gives u more range u can do 8 to 10 or 12 colors. Also I think it would be a lot less drag while fishing from a kayak, and u need a leader from a ditsy so it would be harder to net. The leader on lead ore can go through the eyes of the reel so u can reel to tip way easier IMO

Your speed might have been to fast too!!  I used to troll with a rowboat and you were going alot faster than you would think.   put one over the side where you can see it and try to get a feel for the right stroke.

Put the rod in the holder with 10 feet of line out.  Look at the lure in the water while you are paddling to see if the speed looks ok.
