Cleaning your Hull?

Just pulled my boat the other day and it is caked with algae- any suggestions??

Took the power washer to it and it didn't do much of anything.

Acid wash.  Before next season, have your hull painted with vapor barrier paint and then VC17 anti fouling paint.  A quick hose off with a pressure washer and you will be done.

Had mine in all season and it was on thick.  Acid is the only way. Pump up Garden sprayer  and brush . About the 20th time I did it over the years.. I hate it but thats the price you pay. Thought many times about paint but too lazy.

Prior to splash down. Get that thing bottom painted.

Get yourself a small container of slimy grimy and follow the directions. Works great !

That's the reason I've kept mine on the trailer since it came out of the showroom and take it to the car wash immediately following every time I go out..... no exceptions . Once the heavy stuff is off the hull something that can clean and help maintain it is Attwood Hull Cleaner (sold in many places). It is biodegradable. It is a matter of applying it whether with a sponge or in a spray bottle (my choice.....rinsed out Windex bottle). You leave it on for about 2 minutes or so and spray it off with a hose.....does a good job of it. It is advertised as safe for the marine environment etc. but keep away from eyes and wear rubber gloves.

stop by dollar general and purchase " the works" toilet bowl cleaner. It will be tough to get the boat perfectly clean. 2 bottles should be good enough. spray on and wait a minute or so then wash off. Once its rinsed, powerwash the rest

Is the stuff easier to get off when its dried up?

Its much easier to do fresh from the water.

Used the works- it works! Lol applied two liberal coats let sit for 20 mins. And power washed it off. Will have to do it one more time this week as there were still a few stubborn spots
