Trolling Flys

I am retying a bunch of trolling flys, but before I get too involved I thought I would ask you guys what line and pound test you use. Also what knot do you prefer at the hook. I tryed the Uni Snell Knot but I would like to add a stinger hook. What size and brand of stinger hooks would you use.

I like to use 50# leader. When my brother was down from Alaska a few years ago, he developed a hook setup that has become the standard for many guys and at least one manufacturer. We called it the tournament tie and it is a tandem snelled hook setup. Rear hook is a No. 2 treble and the front hook is a 4/0 or 5/0 beak hook. Beads of your choice go in between the two hooks.

Thats cool Jeff! I have been using the atomic tourny ties for a couple of years now. Those babies really hook up. BTW your bro is the man hauling in that barn door with a handline!
