Steelhead

New fisherman here. I typically fish out of Olcott. I talk to friends and they tell me to go out to 450-550' of water to target steelhead. Two weeks ago we caught 12 of them in 360' of water. We had a great day. We went out this sunday and only caught 4 very small ones. We did not have many marks on the screen when we were catching them. Is there a rhyme or reason to locating steelhead. I don't seem to get a great read from our graph as far as marks and I don't want to troll around all day looking for them if I can help it. If anyone could offer some advice I would greatly appreciate it. We typically will fish between Olcott and Old Fort Niagara. Thanks again.

most of them are in the creeks fattening up on salmon eggs they most likely are in closer to shore been getting them off the piers
