Leadcore backing

I'm making up some short cores 3 5 7. And was wondering how much backing to go with. I'm using 30 mono for backing as I have spare reels with 30 lb already on them I've always bought combos already rigged so not quite sure what to go with

As much as will fit.  You don't want to hook into a screamer king that runs out 700' and you only have 300' of backing.  I use braid backing so that I can get more line on.   That's unless you use the method that someone here mentioned a month ago......that is keep a buoy handy on the boat to attach to the rod in case you get spooled and need to throw the rod over!

If you have more than 1 reel that your filling the easiest way for me is to go backwards on the first one. Put your leader on first I use 50ft floro then your core then the backer untill the reels full. Then simply tie that on to your clean "empty" reel and crank away it will be perfect every time. Hope that helps.
