good morning

does anyone know if you need a fishing license in Florida for the salt waters

I am headed to Tampa for 11 days in early Febuary and wanted to try a little fishing

when I was stationed in NC you didn't need one for salt water but that was 40 years ago ,ouch

Yes you need a saltwater license. They sell them at wallmart in FL.<br />

so I may need a charter if I can

Yeah now you need one in NY and Mass too as of a few years ago.

No saltwater licence needed in NY you just have to register your info in the NY registry no fee. I think they did the licence for one year and then started the registry.

thank you this info was really helpful I guess now maybe I should find a charter captain in the Tampa area that doesn't mind small children
