Ok, So I'm going to be running copper for the first time this year. I'm making 4 setups, 100' 150' 400' 500 all run on inline boards. So where trolling along and a fish hits you grab the rod and ..............what!! do you set the hook or not???

I haven't set the hook on trout or salmon in over well 40 years. Gill T is correct. Let them do it themselves (and make sure you have sharp hooks).

I had a buddy out a couple times that just couldn't understand. He would grab a wire rig that was getting smacked and set the hook like he was in a bass tourney or something. Then turn and ask why do they keep breaking off? The only time I even kind of set the hook is if I'm running sliders on the riggers. And that's just a light tug after I reel down to the fish.
