I am running big jon electric downriggers. Is there any problem running the 13 lb. torpedos off of these?

I've been running 12 lb'ers on my Big Jon's without any problem. I use the 12 lb balls on my deep (center) riggers usually down 75' to 100' with dodger/fly...- no speed/temp probe.

Those 2 riggers are my original ones I bought in 1991. Been using them every year and haven't needed any repairs. The braking action is starting to get wimpy but they still hold OK, just takes about 2' to stop when they are down that far with all the drag. The slow stop is easy on the whole system,..... ;) .

Bullet nose ships are used everywhere today. The shape will probably cut down on the blowback compared to round cannonballs. Maybe that is why bullets are used today rather than cannonballs.
