What, 3 lines per person only? I always thought that the farther away from shore  you are ,the more lines you 're allowed to run.

First question is are you fishing on the Canadian side of Lake O, or US side?

Lots of anglers from both sides on this board.

 

3 in the NY waters, and 2 per person in the Ontario waters.

Yes I am. I find  it plenty complicated to steer a boat in the waves when fishing solo. If it is quiet I will run 3, if not so quiet it is 3 while 2 are off the otter boats and one of a rigger. When it gets snotty 2 is plenty for me.

In Alaska, one line per angler and if he catches a salmon, no more fishing is allowed for him. His line is kept on board then.

Sometimes the folks that ask questions may be from out of state and may just be inquiring about something rather than being an actual fisherman so "good manners" may suggest that it is just being neighborly to give them the info they requested.

15 hook points per line.  So you can run one old wood bait with 5 trebles on it per line.   Or 15 single hook lures per line.  If your willing to untangle them !

15 hooks or points for the question person on 5 baits is the law. Used to  run 15 lures with single hooks in the old days on 1 rod.

you can run 18, i will stick with less. 18 would be a disaster with 5 kids on my boat.

Yes, we have better King Salmon fishing opportunity here than pacific coast fishery areas. So stay home and enjoy it. Appreciate our good fortune here In New York and our license fees are reasonable.

i once talked to a guy back in the 2 rod per person days he would bring his wife the summer she was pregnant he would run 2 extra rod not sure the DEC would buy it but it made me chuckle

There was a guy in the 80's and 90's out of Olcott that used a blow up doll or mannequin to get 4 rods in. I know someone here had seen him before.
