I have a 265 Penn Yann Pro Hunter and seriously thinking about a Airmar b60 thru hull ducer.

Question # 1: My motor is at the stern. Can I mount it in front of the motor and which tilt (12 or 20deg)transducer would I need if mounted there (about 5-6' from transon)?

#2: Is it really night and day with the picture I'll see when running?

On the 26's I normally mount them on the starboard side ahead of the battery box. That puts it in good clean water & approximately 6' forward of the transom & 30" in from the chime. That hull is a 20* dead rise.

Me too on two Penn Yans. Good screen running with either boat.

I can't think of anyone who has serviced more Penn Yans than Hank. You will never go back once you go thru-hull. The angle 'ducer needed on most boats changes in relation to where you put it bow to stern, and inside from the chine. Most of our troling vessels "flatten out" toward the stern, so I would install it where Hank says and with the deadrise degree he suggests.

Thanks for the response guys! Helped a ton. Big question: can I still mark my weights with it?. I REALLY like seeing them.
