Wanted Need an outboard!

I have an old 72 sea nymph that me and my brothers used to run a while back, sadly the head gasket blew and the entire engine block cracked on the old outboard. If anyone has an outboard and they're looking to get rid of it for cheap, or some trade for some stuff let me know. I don't need anything fancy at all. 40- (about) 80 or 90 horse. I have all the mounts and cables still I just need a motor. Hell it can be 40 years old and might need a little work I just need a cheap motor. Thanks for reading.

I currently have a 65hp merc  1975   I have had this motor a couple of years now, came with a boat that i purchased to acquire the trailer. I had the carbs rebuilt, and istalled a new impeller. the compression on each cylinder is 142  141  142 three cylinder. The motor has a fuel leak but still runs. It also needs a gasket, If your interested and can do the work, you will get a great motor. It has a spare prop, gas tank, and controls. been sitting in my garage the last two years. Used motors run about $10 per a horsepower and new motors run around $100 per a horsepower.

Hmmmmm,a good used motor for 10.00 a hp…..i guess you would sell your 9.9 honda or merc for 10.00 a hp…thats acouple yrs old……lol….your a good salesman….

Why not $990 for a new 9.9?  You get a warranty but you sure can't beat buying a used 2010 9.9 for $99.

Haha sorry i should have been a little more specific. I wasnt refering to anything new as in less than 15 years or smaller than 40hp. You can usually pick up a old 50hp outboard for around $500.

Keep looking,one will pop up. I got a nice 40 merc last year from a guy who lived behind the Chinese restaurant in ovid. He had a lot of stuff then but that was before it burned down. Look at whole rigs too. There are some disgusting scows out there with ok motors.
