Hi Folks, Sitting here bored looking at snow thinking of Spring fishing. What is the miles by boat to St Catherine's from Wilson? Since we will all be fishing Canada till June. :). Have to put some diamond plate on front of boat for ice breaking.

Don't forget about phoning in with all the info before you cross the boarder.

You don't have to do that if you going right to a port.

From Wilson to Port Dalhouse is 23.2 miles. You can bring it down to 22.5 if you go really close to the Welland Canal outlet.

This is according to the Garmin maps on my gps

So from what I read you need an enhanced license or passport even if you don't go to a port after crossing border. So observers for tournament like Wilson need the above.

Hopefully warm March and April and the fish will be in the USA for the Wilson tournament. ;)

If you are not touching land I don't think you need a passport or enhanced license.  When we fish the Niagara River we just call in, give the registration number and the names and ages of all on board. In return they give you a number that you need to keep.  I have never been boarded after calling.

With Lake Erie being covered with almost three foot of ice this year, a lot of ice cold water will flow from the Niagara River and Welland Canal systems. This means the feeding frenzy on the Bar and eastward will be a lot later than than the previous ice free seasons. The best fishing will start the other side of Port Dahlousie toward Toronto so get your plans for fishing Canadian waters in order if you fish the western end of New York waters.
