Brett Hite won $125,000 in a Florida Bass contest last week. He claimed his 20# flourocarbon outproduced braid many times over. Something to think about as we gear up this year.

A lot of those bass guys go for the braid for flippin' and hitting the heavy stuff.

I won't use anything but fluoro for leaders of divers and retie most of my flies with 50# fluoro. I think we have even increased our rigger production by going to 22# Gamma fluoro on rigger rods.

I often wondered if the fish are checking out the leader when they swim up to a fly 20" behind a swinging license plate...I mean dodger :? .

yes they do ... some of the older salmon have a guage they pull out ,if the leader is too large diamenter they wont bite, thats why copper works so well after 600 ft of checking the line they get a little sloppy and say im gonna bite the next thing that comes along ........and whammo ya got a monster on ??????????????or is it a small one pulling 600ft copper sideways through the water????????????.hope this helps
