Did you try a magic eraser? Those things are pretty awesome and they still blow me away at what they remove from fiberglass

Goof luck,

Very difficult to get out rust stains esp. on old fiberglass. Magic eraser with starbrite rust remover spray will help a lot.

SLIMY GRIMY...mix as directed with water ...turns to liquid OXALIC ACID..spray on. Don't let dry and soft bristle brush. Hose it off. Don't get it in your eyes or on bushes. Bar tenders friend in grocery stores too. In the cleanser section. Same kind of stuff

There's a product called polyox I've used that is phenomenal. It's a powder abrasive like soft scrub and gets off rust is a hurry.... Martins cleaner made in n tonawanda works great for everything else

I have used fine sand paper and wet sanded the area. Once done buff the spot out and good as new.  They are really tough.  I had some on my 81' and it took a lot of time and patients but they came out.  I have tried a bunch of solvents and nothing worked for me.  My spots were probably 20+ years old.
