Okuma reel question

If faced with a choice which is the better reel for down rigging

The okuma cold water or an okuma clarion clr-304d. I have a choic between the two I can get either for 90.00. Not sure which is better for downrigger fishing

That is a no brainer I would go with the Clarion that price is below wholesale price.

Also is the okuma classis pro glt a good rod to pair them with?

All i use are Okuma products they are top notch in my book.  Rods are quality but won't break the bank.

I would go with the 8'6'' M Blue Diamond Rod if it was me.

That's what I use and works very well for down rigging or inline planer boards.
