Running Stick Baits with Dulock Snaps

I am planning on running my stick baits on dulock snaps this year. Should I take the split rings off the nose of the lure and run the snaps right on the lure or can I keep the split rings? Not sure if it affects the action or not.

If they came with the rings I'd leave them on because the weight may be changed as well as potentially affecting the action directly. With that said I always check them at the side of the boat and see exactly how they are running before sending them out....and tune them if or when necessary whether duolocks are used or not.
