Went out of sandy with my little guy and gave him his first lesson in playing hookie from school. There was a good mud line with temp breaks up to 40 degrees. 11 fow was our best depth set on a westerly troll. Blue n white floating rapala 75 back off the inline took the most shots. He had an absolute ball reeling in all the fish.

I think we saw you in the starcraft.  I also have a starcraft.  We were in my buddies boat, we went 5 for 5 with 1 brown and 4 lakers.  Had our best luck in 50 to 60 ft.  We got nothing near the muddy line.  Great you had your son with youl.  Doug

best luck was when we wld come in and out of the mud line went 5 for 9 all browns. One brown looked like he was fresh out of the creek, the rest were nice and silver.

Looks like those browns all had some lamprey marks....

Great day to play hookey, well any day is, but fishing makes it better. Hope the teacher isn't a lou fan.

Hahahaha....yea, that wouldn't help the kids case.

Nice fish, and I'm sure he'll remember skipping school and banging some nice fish for the rest of his life.

We went out Monday morning to give the boat a test run and get ready for season. We played inside a little but really don't have a good setup for fish that shallow. So we started in 80 fow . After hr we caught one lake trout and slowly headed in. Buy 65 feet we couldn't keep them off the line. 12 for 14 on lake trout. Good test run. And the crew needed it. Netting fish was a lost art lol. Thank God the fish were patient and gave us a couple shots to net them. But great day. Get new boat in 2 weeks so I'm going to be asking for advice on setting it up (trophy 2460).
