Looking for some help here.  I am pretty new to this.  I used to just hang a rod off the side and go and did pretty well but decided to start using boards and riggers.  I went out yesterday and got blanked off of Bear.  Any help as far as how far the boards go.  How far behind them and the same for the riggers.  Also what is a good speed.  Thanks in advance.

You want your boards a good distance from the boat. I would set lines 125 -150ft behind the boards. You want to keep all the same distance on each side. Riggers 50-100 ft behind you, but don't be afraid to play with those. I prefer a GPS of 2.2-2.8 depending on the day and water temp. A little slower until the water gets to the 48-58 degree range.

I run the same as Doghouse. I run my lines off the boards 140, 130, 120 on each side and will re-deploy when I get down to 80. Speed this time of year I run 1.8-2.2 SOG and will pick up a bit when the water warms.
