Gotta believe the run will be later this year. The ice cover on Lake Erie is keeping river temps around 34 right now. They say the magic temp for the smelt run is 42.

My buddy went Saturday nite caught none n saw none wait for after the ice boom release they should b running jus after that even the boys across the river were jus driving down then turning around n leaving

had to work for a quarter bucket for 5hrs left at 230. next mon-fri I think will b better

We went Monday nite the 12th and did well.

Keep the lights and lanterns off and you will do better then with them on. Too much light and stirring up the shallows by walking around pushes the column out deeper eventually beyond reach on slow nights in my opinion.
