First time fishing Lake Ontario so early in the spring

Is the spring fishing always this good?

Just wondering if I have this to look forward to next year as well

Spring to fall every year.

usually it starts off like gang busters....then it slows down as we get closer to May.....this year we are dealing with the after effects of a brutal winter. I'd be willing to bet the gobie population took a hit in the deep freeze. Now we have cooler water with (possibly) slightly lower numbers of forage fish.....awesome for us.....I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of kings around the central part of the lake.......hopefully this keeps up till the June transition...
