Ok Gentlemen, I will be fishing both of the Niagara Pro/Am’s but will be unable to attend the Captains meeting for the events. That means that I will not be able to facilitate the Calcutta so unless some steps up to take over this task the event will be with out this extra prize.

I will be handling this task at the Oak Orchard Open.

Being new to the tournament scene, I have to ask, What is a calcutta ?  Are they always run on the day prior to an

event like the WHI, OOO, or Pro-Ams ?

A "Calcutta" is a side bet placed between captains on the outcome of the actual tournament. Most Calcuttas are $100 or $200 and are cash only. You will need to enter at the captains meeting the night before the event.

"Most" captains enter for a chance to win some extra cash. A few superstitious captains refuse to enter a Calcutta because they feel it brings them bad luck in the tourney itself. What it usually does is cost them several thousand dollars in tax free CASH.....right Yank?
