Had perfect weather Sunday with a slight West/NW wind and overcast until 9:30. Headed out of the chute at 6am set up our spread heading north until we found where the river/lake waterline. It was out 70fow. We only picked up a small Atlantic and water temp was 47 and colder. We picked up and headed east until we hit 50 fow and set up again. Water color and temp was much better over there (54 on top and 50 degrees 20-25 ft down. Marked some bait and a few fish on the screen but not much action. Had a couple of hits on the dipsey out 25 ft. Missed the first one and boated a nice 8lb brown, threw him back. Trolled almost to the plant not marking too much out there. The sun came out so we slid out to 60 fow and found a better screen but no takers. Bait was mostly on the bottom. Something hit the dispey hard and was gone before I could get to the rod, broke our 10lb leader line at the dispey. We mostly ran a spoon program and kept changing colors/patterns. 2-4 for the morning. We did see fish coming off the bottom look at our stuff and but no takers. Three hits were on a dark moonshine spoon all on dispeys. No side board hits. We will be back at it again next weekend. Didn't hear great reports when we came in. Did see some boats do really well with Lakers.

Good luck out there!
