Water pump.problem

I just installed a new impeller today and can't seem to get a pee stream. I cleaned the tube out and that fine also went through the entire motor and no luck. The only thing I noticed was a lot of water coming out where the shift linkage goes up though the gear case. Th motor is a 2001 evinrude 4

Make sure impeller blades turn in the correct direction. I had that problem before.

My outboard also required some type of sealant or something. Had to take it to the mechanic to find that out but the motor was a force. Not sure about rudes.
