I've decided to re-spool all of my reels and wondering about changing things up. I've always used pink Ande on my downrigger reels. I've seen some people using clear or green line. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each of the colors? Any personal preferences for Lake Ontario?

I like green.. Why you ask? I have no idea. Honestly I don't think it makes a difference, other guys might.

Pink is less visible in water than the clear or green, at least the Ande. This from watching down hole ice fishing for rainbows on Georgian Bay's clear water.

Cheers...Jake

ps: wish I could still get Ande line here.....

i'm not 100% convinced I need my line to disappear in the water.  We caught fish last week on mono and on braid with and without flouro leaders.  From what I was seeing, guess I'll have to pay more attention to how much different the catch ratio is.  When we chose our line this year, we went with something that we can easily see above the water.  If we find we want it to be invisible in the water, we'll throw on a flouro leader.

I'm under the suspicion that it does not matter, but that is just my thoughts.
