Went out 12-2 this morning, we got a few bass and only one walleye and it was only 18.5" smallest one I have ever caught there.

Funny thing about this was this fish was hanging around a foot from where we were standing all night. I had a pole out with an alewife on it and that is what the fish hit on. 90 minutes this fish hung around the wall we were standing on and bit right before we left.

Way to go...glad you got some action.  Ive had a night or two where we work damn hard for 1...do you cast 1 rod and bait another?  Otisco seldom gives em up easy, but I think that's what has me hooked!  The spring casting seems to be a smaller run of fish than fall or trolling.   Im headed out tonight hopefully I can find a couple!

Yeah if we can get some alewives we keep one baited closely and just cast around it. Hopefully a cruiser or one who follows in a lure takes it.
