when trolling main motor in neutral?

When you are running on your kicker do you leave your main motor in neutral or put it in gear? Just wondering beacause I heard once not sure if its true... But if your prop spins not under load it can lead to premature bearing failure. Not sure if this is true or just for trailering. Any input would be great

If it spins that means there is no drag:) i always put my outboard in N when trolling
