Transducer help

Due to unforseen circumstances with my 242 Sportcraft I purchased a 267 StarCraft islander I was hoping I could take my tru hull transducer out of the Sportcraft and put in the islander after hours of googling I still have no idea if I can do it any input would be appreciated thanks Jerry

I'm no technician but my understanding is that once a thru hull is installed (usually expoxied) it is there to stay....I think you may be asking for trouble by moving it.

I already took it out of the Sportcraft I am hoping I can put it in the islander I just don't know if there is an issue with a tru hull in a aluminum hull

i was told it is not recommended for an aluminum boat.

I think your problem may be galvanic corrosion from contact of dissimilar metals.

Thanks for all the feed back I wonder if I put gasket material in between if that would also work

You cant install a bronze or brass transducer in aluminum regardless of gasket. due to corrosion You need the plastic model its designed for it

Please keep me updated on how you mahd out with installing Thru hull On your Boat. I also have islander thinking about one on mine
