Want to try and fish lake Erie a few times during the week. What times seem to work for folks.

I do the best from 8 am to 11 am and 2nd best is 4 pm to 7 pm.The morning bite has been usually box out days! Sometimes on the full moon the fish feed at night and do not feed as good in the morning, but go again at midday.

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES

Looking to get out in the next week or so, take a half day of vacation and fish the afternoon bite or a whole day and fish the morning bite.

Trouble is I live in Rochester and it is just over an hour for me to get to the small boat harbor to launch.

Hate to drive over and find bad conditions that prevent us from going out

Thanks

I have done well at all different times of day, and against conventional wisdom have caught some real nice eyes in the middle of a calm sunny day. Anytime you can get out is a good time to fish for them

When we were out over the weekend of the 4rth, 3 days, we picked away at them during the morning hours, a hot spurt at mid-day, and a slow pick until it shut off mid afternoon. Never went back out for the late afternoon-evening bite.

This time of the year with the warmer water, you are best off The Cattaraugus Creek and west of there as the thermocline will be set up there. Sixty five foot of water is a good starting depth. Also the big smelt eating Walleyes will follow the cold water smelt pods on the bottom there.

Agree on anytime out is good.

Any good apps. That people use for wind and wave conditions?
