So I decided to install some lights on the old boat I installed a total of 8 deck lights. 6 of the lights are on the deck and two shoot out the back towards the water for netting fish.

The photos I took don't do it justice for the amount of light they put off. There won't be any problem seeing the deck out anything around it. Now I just need to get a couple spotlights for the planer board and rigging.

This shows the location for the 6 facing the deck.

And the 2 facing towards the back.

That's weekday I'm hoping. I would really like to get up on the river early some morning. We found ourselves fishing late into the evening with next to no light except our rear nav light and cell phones.

Does he use incandescent/halogen spots or LED?

Red lights would help with night vision!

No, no, no!! That would be a navigational hazard. Never use a red or green light on your boat at night except your nav lights.

Just trying to keep everyone safe.

These are considered "cool white" which are a blue tint. They only had red and these cool white. Everything on my boat is white and blue and I'm a little OCD so they had to be blue or white.

I too thought about the red and navigational hazards that could be caused.
