River Perch and Gills- Clayton Area

Taking my 4 y/o fishing today. Thought it might be fun to try and track down some pan fish...... Any thoughts or tips? Thanks so much guys, and tight lines!

Perch were a bit illusive. Found some gills in french bay. On weed beds suspended in about 8fow. Caught enough for dinner and had a blast with my boy!
