i have my first pair of electric mag 10's older ones will they lift a 20lb. weight ? what to look for? thanks

The max on them is 10 lbs. recommended by Cannon.

I ran 12's on my old Mag 10's, they were slower than a glacier, but they handled it.  I wouldn't go heavier than 12 though.

Best bet is to stick with 10lb. I ran 13lb on mag 10's and ended up blowing out a motor. Parts for these older ones aren't easy to find either. Newer models are rated for 20lb.

http://www.anglingoutpost.com sells cannon replacement parts as well. Not sure how old of parts you can get, maybe worth checking out though.

We use four on the boat. Haad a motor go last year. Motors cant be found anywhere. We bought four from the lou classified. They are interchangeable. We keep extras. Most cost effective way to go.

Screwey Louies in Fairhaven has a lot of weird parts like that for the older Cannons.
