Times to fish

Hey gang I realize that first and last light are going to be peak times to catch fish. Can you not catch salmon in Lake Ontario all day? I mean...what are the charter boats doing? They are out there in the middle of the day right?

Sometimes there's a 10:00 + 2:00 bite. I caught one at 12:15 the other day. Can't catch them unless you're fishing, just like you can't kill a buck from the couch.

Like Kevin says fish when you can You can sit on couch and catch nothing or sit on boat and at least try to make something happen. I prefer the latter.

4 pm Sunday afternoon...I'm out here right now putting my time in. Clouds are rolling in and the wind is picking up. I guess the best time to fish is whenever you have time. Nothing yet and may have to bail due to weather. Don't feel like swimming today or any other for that matter.

I figure the fish don't sprout wings and fly off into space...the rest is up to me.

I'm not the most experienced, but I've caught them at any time out there. I usually keep track of when and where we catch them. One day last summer we were out at daybreak and nothing until after 11 am. Then had 4 in the boat by 3pm.

We fish from 6am to 8 pm one day most every week. The bite is never the same two days in a row. You never know when its coming.
