Non combo fish finders

Looking at upgrading FF to color unit, which is better, dual or single frequency transducers, will be used mostly in the Finger lakes.

I'm not really interested in the combo models.

I love my Hummingbird 777C2.... it's not a combo despite the "C" in it's name. Really nice 5" color display. Comes with a speed and temp sensor as well. Real good resolution on the screen- I think 480x640 pixels?? 500W of RMS does not hurt either You may find some for less, but not with the color display, great resolution and 500W for under $500.

I have two of them. One sits at the console and the other is on the bow with a wide side transducer mounted on the trolling motor for looking on the bottom and out to both sides for bass.

Thanks CD I was kinda leaning toward a Humminbird do to the fact that

I have 2 of them now and wouldn't have to change mounts.

We have a new Humminbird 955C GPS unit on the boat this year. The screen resolution is incredible and you can see it clearly in even the brightest of conditions. Ask Yankee Troller what he thinks of it...he was messin' with it on Sunday while we were out. I'm really impressed with it. I can't tell you too much about their transducers, but their screens are great.
