Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 17 foot starcraft fishmaster i recently bought. the trolling motor is shot and is a 54lb thrust. If I replace it at the same thrust do you think it is enough power? Anything higher i would have to rewire. Any thoughts?

Thanks

It depends on how much you use your trolling motor and how many volt system you want to run--more batteries to tend to. I would reccomend buying the most you can afford. You wont regret it when you need the power. I am going to be upgrading to a 36 volt 101lbs thrust from a 12 volt 45 lbs of thrust after seeing it in action aboard yankees boat. You can troll with it at 2.6 miles an hour!! haha stil plenty of power to trol all day with too!!

Go with the most you can afford. Rewiring is the least of your worries when you dont have enough power for proper boat control. Get a 3 bank battery charger when you upgrade!

Good luck. Any more questions feel free to pm me or ask.
