twisting dipsey

One of my two wire rods keep twisting at the dipsey. Tried tightening the dipsey up. anyone ever run into this? only one rod does it.

Most likely letting it out too fast. When deploying, engage the reel and loosen the drag so it plays out slowly.

thanks popeye, I thumb the spool while letting it out. It just seems the one rod does it 80% of the time. Wondering if its the rod or the dipsey...

Also make sure the screw on the weight of the dispsey isn't loosening up. If the weight stars "flopping" back and forth it could do that

welp, bought a new dipsey, accident;y lost the problem child over board  , managed to rip a 26 ib'r on the new one and had no tangles.
