Evening Crappies

Just returned from NJ and needed a fish fix so I hit an Indian River lake this evening. Not great but I got enough for a good meal. They hit for about an hour before dark along a weed edge. This has been a pretty reliable summer method for me. Minnows, tubes and other small plastics on a 1/32-1/16th  jig head falling slowly along the weed drop off on 4 or 6 lb. test.

Nice. A fresh caught meal of delicious panfish. Fried up I hope. With goodies on "the side". .....mmmmmm.....

I had crappie last night too (From a bag in the freezer).

Gong to have them for supper tonight with fresh green beans, Harvard beets, a fresh salad all from the garden. So much produce right now I better do some canning and freezing this afternoon.
