Line Algae

While reelling up my lines I notice alot of algae on the lines. It gets clogged in my rod eyes and I lost a fish trying to unclug the eyes.  Any thoughts?

Water fleas

Reel it in till about 6 ft from tip.  Put tip in water then whip it out of the water as fast as you can.  Generally that'll cut the buggers right off.
