Both.  Depending on what I am fishing for and how deep they are.  Typically have one down 150ft for those slob kings.  And one up high for steelies.

As stated above, we run them on both. If the kings are above 50 feet it usually is a spoon bite. If they are below 50 it is usually a combo bight for us. I do tend to have flasher flies on my dipsy though.

Like jigstick said....both ways depending on conditions at the time...have to be careful when rough water if running two at same time or combined with spinny on downriggers at same time (tangles come easy) :lol:  I nearly always run them close to the ball (e.g.4 ft or so) if run on downriggers

I usually have at least one on a rigger, fairly tight to to the ball (8-10 ft) and at least one on a diver. Then let the fish dictate if I add more.
