We have caught several jumbo perch here in Michigan using leeches and was wondering if any of you use them for Kueka Lake perch and are they legal to use on the lakes there?

Back in the mid-80's I lived in SW lower Michigan, and used leeches (and wigglers) for monster perch off the piers at Benton Harbor / St. Joe......I don't see why they wouldn't work on other bodies of water for the bigger perch. They are a legal bait here in NYS waters, and are sold in local shops.......

They work fine here on perch and also bullheads.

I've caught big crappie, bluegills, rock bass, pumpkinseeds and perch on only the very few times I used them.....only reason was because somebody else I was fishing with bought some and we used them. Makes me wonder why I don't use them more often. Bass and an eye also fell for them. I tend to use artificials more. The Berkley Power baits and Gulp! stuff work great in leech patterns. Their (real live ones)  toughness on the hook and activity must scream DINNER!! for any fish nearby. A small lake in the eastern part of the state, Canandaigua lake and Honeoye lake are the only places I have experience using leeches and they worked great each time used.....and better than I had believed they might.
