Started by leaving work early on Friday with a few friends and heading for the lake. We were greeted with light winds and had our 6 rod spread in by 5PM. By 5:05PM with hooked up with an average laker down about 50 over 160. After landing and resetting the other rigger is screaming and a solid rainbow is summersaulting 10 feet behind the boat. After a long battle we realized we had a small laker on the main spoon and a very acrobatic bow on the cheater which ended in a botched net job and only the laker making it to the boat. Finished the night 4 for 9 while teaching some new guys the ropes.

Saturday morning was a different story with rain, wind, weeds and lake gulls bombing us. We ended up 11 for 14 with lakers up to 29 inches and a 25 inch walleye.

Sunday we had our spread dialed in and were very excited to hit the water. Lines were in by 6:15 and it was on right away. Small spoons did all the damage with only one fish coming on a FF combo. We had some real excitement when seeing a strange mark on the graph near our shallow rigger, then bam! Drag screaming and we knew we were in for a treat. Ended up hooking a planer board that was still hooked to a fish!!! After fighting the board and fish, we successfully hand lined what seemed to be 75 yards of line. Ended up being a 26 inch laker that was very lively despite the board being covered in young zebra mussels. (Would have to assume it had been under for a while). Finished 8 for 10 by 8:15 with all average sized but hard fighting lakers. Very fun weekend with good action on the riggers
