I was able to get out this weekend. Hunted sat morning, afternoon, sunday morning. Hard hunting lots of guys out and not alot of fields to pick from. Got some shooting!! I tried making goose snack sticks. They are not the greatest. I used high mountain snack kit and smoked them with apple wood ( electric smoker). First time trying this. Anybody have a recipe or tips on making these? Or any other recipes? Got some jerky going but won't be done till tomorrow. Hoping to getting back out soon.

Joel

I haven't smoked them but did use the snack stix mix without the casings and dehydrated them. Last time I used ground venison and ground goose and it turned out good, but i have done all goose and is fine. I've only started dabbling in smoking meats so not sure how the apple works on goose.

I always make smoked sticks with the high mtn. With goose I add right around 50 percent fat to cut cost I use beef and pork. I cure them overnight. Going into the smoke they have to be dry so if need be pat dry once in the smoker they cannot touch or you get those light weird patches. I start mine hot at 180 to 200 have to cook somewhat fast or the become sandy. My little secret is a healthy dose of Apple smoked bacon ground in. Hope it helps
